Short bio
Iulia-Elena Jivănescu is the ESA Coordination Officer in Romania, a liaison position between the Romanian space industry and the European Space Agency, under the aegis of the Romanian Space Agency. Iulia has been part of the Romanian Space Agency since 2008, while also having long-standing collaboration with the Romanian Association for Space Technology and Industry and the Romanian Institute of Space Science. Iulia holds a master’s degree in Space Propulsion from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and she completed her bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. She served as vice-president of the Space Working Party during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU (January – June 2019), negotiating the EU Regulation for the Space Programme 2021-2027.
