On April 27th, 2023, the 12th Croatian Space Café took place online with great success. Our lecturer, Zoran Kahric, addressed a very important issue related to communication between satellites and earth stations. presented solutions for the correct reading of satellite data and interference that can affect its quality. Our lecturer pointed out that in addition to weather conditions, sun activity and birds, which are the most common causes of incomplete or incorrect data, there are also hacker attacks. The lecturer also mentioned attacks aimed at changing the data sent between the satellite and the ground station, the need to encrypt and decrypt all the information sent, and presented the latest solutions that will be used in the future to detect and prevent all types of attacks.
