InnORBIT is a proud supporter of the 3rd CASSINI Hackathon in Greece, organized by Corallia and ESA BIC Greece!
The 3rd CASSINI Hackathon – “Revisit Europe” is one of the greatest milestones for the European space sector in spring 2022. This year’s CASSINI Hackathon is taking place simultaneously in 9 different locations on May 12 – 14, 2022 with Athens, Greece being one of the destinations!
Participants and teams are invited to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to revitalize tourism across Europe.
The three challenges include:
- Challenge #1: Finding sustainable destinations - Design products, devices or services that enable to reduce the carbon footprint of tourism travel.
- Challenge #2: Experiencing cities and cultures - Design products, devices or services that offer tourists a unique and sustainable experience of our cities and cultural heritage.
- Challenge #3: Exploring nature with care - Design products, devices or services that can help offer tourists a unique and sustainable opportunity to explore our nature.
Corallia is already highly experienced in the organization of space hackathons, having organized the Copernicus Hackathons in Athens in 2018, 2019, and 2020, as well as the 1st CASSINI Hackathon in Athens, in 2021. Seeking pathways to improvement, the team of Corallia will have the opportunity to put into practice key insights obtained by participating in the Capacity Building Programme of the 1st pilot round of InnORBIT. By doing so, Corallia is heading towards the organization of yet another successful hackathon in Greece, extending its track record as a key enabler of the Greek space ecosystem.
In parallel to the CASSINI Hackathon, Corallia is also organising the Greek Space Café – further supporting innovation in the Greek space-related ecosystem. The first two events took place in February and April 2022, and more are yet to come.
